UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs Melendez Results and Betting Recap

UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs Melendez went down last night from San Jose, California. Our model’s performance was right on target. 6 of 8 picks were correct and we were able to earn a small profit of 0.12 units. Unfortunately, it was very close to being a much more profitable night as Mein’s TKO loss to Matt Brown cost us (including no profit from the parlay) 3.6 units.

The main event was extremely closely contested. We had a two unit bet on Henderson to retain the title, and we had him taking this one 49-46. Luckily, the judges got it right and we took home 0.82 units on our 2 unit bet.

In the co-main event, Daniel Cormier was able to do what we expected him to do. Besides taking a few damaging kicks to the body on the feet from Mir, he was able to lock the fight down against the cage and lean his way to a decision victory. Unfortunately, he was a part of our losing 4 team parlay so we didn’t take home any cash.

One of our two underdog picks on the night, Josh Thomson took care of business vs Nate Diaz. Getting a technical knockout victory in the middle of the second round via head kick and punches. It was funny to see the towl thrown in by Diaz’s corner just because it isn’t something you see very often in MMA these days. We win 1.66 units.

To kick off the main card, in what began as one of the most exciting fights on the card, Matt Brown was able to finish our 4-team parlay by knocking out “Young Gun” Jordan Mein. We lose 1.5 units.

See our 2013 results summary for the full event recap.
