UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs Bigfoot Full Predictions and Bets

With just 48 hours to fight time, we are back with our full predictions and bets for UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs Bigfoot which will be live from Brisbane, Australia. The online prelims which feature just one bout in Wall vs Garcia will begin at 6:30 pm ET while the TV prelims begin at 7:00 pm ET and the main card begins on Fox Sports 1 and Sportsnet 360 at 9:00 pm ET. We already posted our main card predictions and bets. We’re now back to give you our bets for the rest of the card.

Our last mathematical prediction of the card is in the bantamweight division. We have Takeya Mizugaki to defeat Nam Phan the vast majority of the time. Mizugaki enters the fight off a huge win over Erik Perez in a fight where many saw him set up to lose versus the highly touted prospect Perez. The win extended his 2 fight win streak to 3 with 3 straight decision victories (2 by split decision). Phan has had limited success in the UFC since joining the promotion back in 2010. He sports a UFC record of 2-4 and will be making the drop to bantamweight for this fight. We don’t believe Phan stands much chance of changing his fortunes in this one against the number 10 ranked bantamweight on the UFC’s roster. The most likely result of this one, by far is a Mizugaki decision victory. Unfortunately, the money line on Mizugaki sits at 1.40 and the line on over 2.5 rounds sits at 1.42 to 1. Neither of which give us the value we’d be looking for in order to place bets.

One other betting line we do like on this card is Richie Vaculik to defeat Justin Scoggins. A look at their recent history tells us that while both have decent career records: Vaculik 9-1, Scoggins 7-0, only 1 of them has been beating decent competition. Let’s look at the combined records of their last 5 opponents: Vaculik 42-25, Scoggins 14-17. Not only that, just 1 of Scoggins opponents sports a winning record overall which just 1 of Vaculik’s opponents has a losing record overall. Doesn’t it seem crazy then that Scoggins sits at under 1.5 to 1 while Vaculik sits at 2.8 to 1? We think so! We placed a 3 unit bet on Vaculik at 2.8 to 1.

And that’s pretty much it. The other lines on this card appear to be pretty fair. The case could be made for the 6-0 debuting Bethe Correia (2.85 to 1) against the 16-12 Julie Kedzie (1.5 to 1), but with octagon jitters, the unknowns are too great and its quite possible the veteran, Kedzie can easily handle her younger opponent. A decent parlay could probably be made of some of the over lines on Ring vs Magalhaes, Garcia vs Wall and Phan vs Mizugaki, but we will leave that as a potential Twitter bet.

Hunt over Silva. 5 units at 2.35 to 1.
Barry over Palelei. 3 units at 1.69 to 1.
Under 1.5 rounds Palelei vs Barry. 5 units at 1.53 to 1.
Vaculik over Scoggins. 3 units at 2.8 to 1.
