To kick off a busy weekend of fights, we had 3 plays on Bellator and Titan FC 27. In total, we went 2-1 on the 3 plays for a profit of 2.54 units. If you haven’t checked out Reed Kuhn’s Fightnomics it is packed with ridiculous amounts of MMA stats and is just $10 or so if you buy the Kindle version on Amazon.
Our third bet of the night was a parlay bet where we had Mike Ricci to defeat Jorge Gurgel and Matt Riddle to defeat Michael Kuiper. The bet was 2 units at 1.77 to 1. Ricci managed to get a first round TKO over Gurgel and Riddle got a second round submission over Kuiper. We profit 1.54 units.
Our second bet of the night was for Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and Mikhail Zayats to fight for less than 2.5 rounds. The bet was 2 units at 2.35 to 1. By fight time, the line had fallen to 2.20 to 1. Round 1 saw the fighters mostly feeling out their ranges. We gave it to Zayats based on his more effective striking, but the lack of volume made it tough to judge. King Mo turned the tide in the second round, getting the better of the striking, but still not fully engaging. The third round was pretty similar to the first two and the clock easily ticked by 2:30 meaning our bet was lost. We lose 2 units.
Our first bet of the night at Bellator was Matt Bessette to defeat Diego Nunes. Our bet was 1 unit at 4.00 to 1. The first round clearly went to Nunes, he outstruck Besette and spent some time in top position. The tide turned in round 2 with Bessette almost knocking Nunes out. It was clear Bessette had the advantage when striking from range. The fighters spent the entire third round on their feet and it was a relatively even round, but we had Nunes with the advantage. Somehow, one judge scored the fight 30-27 for Bessette and Bessette took a split decision win. We profit 3 units.
