UFC Fight Night 38: Shogun vs Henderson Results and Betting Recap

In a wacky night of action, where 8/10 underdogs won, we came out almost unscathed, suffering just a small 2.90 unit loss. Now we have a few weeks off UFC betting, but we’ll come back strong with 4 cards in 15 days from April 11 to April 26.

Our final bet of the night was on Dan Henderson to defeat Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. We bet 1.5 units at 3.00. Things looked awful early on as Rua clipped Hendo two or three times in the first two rounds. Somehow Henderson survived although he looked concussed between rounds. In the third though, Henderson’s big right hand came through huge, knocking Rua out (and breaking his nose) as they broke from the clinch. The big win by Henderson gives us a 3 unit profit.

The second leg of our first parlay was Mairbek Taisumov to defeat Michael Prazeres. The first leg of the parlay cashed easily as Kenny Robertson submitted Thiago Perpetuo in the first round with a rear naked choke. The bet was 3 units at 2.53 to 1. Unfortunately, Taisumov grabbed the fence on multiple occassions and what would have been a close decision easily went the way of Prazeres who had decent cardio for the first time in his career. We lose our 3 unit bet.

The first leg of our second parlay was Ronny Markes to defeat Thiago Santos. The parlay was with Norman Parke and was 3 units at 1.65. In addition, we had a 2 unit bet on the under 1.5 rounds at 2.55. Surprisingly, Santos made quick work of Markes landing a body kick that crumpled Markes. It caused our parlay not to cash, but the under cashed. The net result was a profit of 0.10 units.

The first leg of our first parlay was Kenny Robertson to defeat Thiago Perpetuo. The second leg of the parlay was Mairbek Taisumov and the bet was 3 units at 2.53 to 1. It was an impressive performance by Kenny Robertson as he landed an early head kick that saw him end up on bottom. He was able to quickly stand up and get a takedown of his own. On the ground, he quickly took Perpetuo’s back and got the submission via rear naked choke. Leg 1 of the parlay was good!

Our first bet of the night was on the second fight of the night, Francimar Barroso and Hans Stringer to fight for less than 7:30 (1.5 rounds). Our bet was 3 units at 2.80 to 1. Round 1 saw a lot of clinch work and a bit of ground work which saw Stringer unexpectedly in top control. Round 2 had even more clinch work with both guys looking gassed at the end of the round. The third round was pretty similar, but it was already too late for our bet. Stringer took the fight by split decision. We lost our 3 unit bet.
