UFC Fight Night 50: Souza vs Mousasi Full Predictions and Bets

We are just about 24 hours away from UFC Fight Night 50: Souza vs Mousasi and we’re back with our full betting tips for this stacked UFC Fight Night fight card. We posted our early predictions and bets last weekend, but there are several more places we see value and we’ll go over those here! We’ll be looking to continue our winning ways in September after winning 7 of the last 9 months, but having a slight letdown at the end of August. Check out our full track record, which is the best on the net, here. In honour of the NFL season kicking off tonight, we’re promotion The Harriman Book of Spread Betting Rules: 140 expert tips from top traders which is chock full of tips you can use for your NFL bets this season!

We already discussed the first heavyweight fight on this card in our early picks and bets, but we see some value in the second heavyweight contest which features Matt Mitrione and Derrick Lewis doing battle in the middle of the main card. For Lewis, Friday night will mark his third appearance in the octagon and so far he’s had two first round TKO wins. At 29 years old, Lewis is 11-2 with 10 wins by TKO and 1 by submission, while both of his career losses have come by decision. Mitrione, at the age of 36 has compiled a record of 7-3, but we have to note that all of his fights have been under the UFC banner so the level of competition he has been facing is much less of a question mark compared to Lewis. After going 5-0 to start his pro career, Mitrione has been 2-3 in his last 5 with losses to Brendan Schaub, Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo. In this fight, Mitrione should have the advantage as long as he can keep it standing. In addition he should have the cardio advantage on Lewis who looked to be gassing at the end of the first round of his last fight. These two advantages were enough for us to bet Mitrione as an underdog so we placed a 2 unit bet on Mitrione at 2.40 (+140) at 5Dimes.

Our second underdog play of the card will be on former flyweight title contender John Moraga to defeat the hyped up Justin Scoggins. Moraga will be entering his sixth UFC fight tomorrow night at the age of 30. He sits at 3-2 with losses to a couple of the division’s best in Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson. It will be Scoggins’ fourth UFC appearance. So far at the tender age of 22 he is 2-1 with his only loss being a controversial split decision to Dustin Ortiz. We expect Scoggins will have some trouble dealing with the step up in competition that Moraga should be. With the line climbing as high as it has, we definitely think the value is in Moraga so we placed a 2 unit bet on John Moraga at 3.10 (+210) at 5Dimes.

Our final play of the day will be another underdog as we see Chris Camozzi defeating Rafael Natal. Natal will enter the fight off back to back losses to Tim Kennedy and Ed Herman while Camozzi enters on a 3 fight losing skid. We placed a 2 unit bet on Camozzi at 2.45 (+145) at BetOnline.

Add after weigh in: 2 units on Nik Lentz at 2.50 (+150) at 5Dimes
