UFC Fight Night 55/56 Betting Tips Recap

With 2 fight cards in the books this weekend, we came out with a nice profit and an almost perfect betting record. At UFC Fight Night 55: Rockhold vs Bisping, we went 4-0 for +7.53 units. At UFC Fight Night 56: Shogun vs St Preux, we went 1-1 for +3.40 units. You can’t really ask for much more than that when betting on such a volatile sport as MMA. Most of our betting tips are now only available to those who purchase them via our Sellfy page where they’re available for just $9.95. Speaking of which, you can now pre-order our UFC 180: Werdum vs Hunt betting tips which means you will receive each betting tip update we have via email before they’re even posted on our Sellfy page.

We ended UFC Fight Night 55 on a high note as our lone bet on the main event between Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping was for the fight to end in under 2.5 rounds. It was our free bet for the event and was 1 unit at 2.60 (+160). Rockhold came out less aggressive than we had anticipated in the first. In the second round though, Rockhold landed a question mark kick and another kick to Bisping’s head, sending him to the canvas. Rather than trying to finish with strikes (which he was very close to doing), Rockhold took the opportunity to lock up a guillotine, finishing his British opponent at the 57 second mark of round 2. We profit 1.60 units.

To open the UFC Fight Night 55 card, we had 2 betting tips. Firstly, we had 2 units on Palelei to defeat Harris at 1.61 (-165). Secondly, we had 1 unit on Palelei winning inside the distance at 1.95 (-105). In a typical low level heavyweight fight, both guys landed a bunch of sloppy strikes, but nothing paritcularly damaging in the first. In the second, Palelei seemed to have the better gas tank as he was throwing many more strikes than Harris. Eventually he got Harris to the ground and got the finish with ground and pound. Our total profit is 2.17 units.

On the undercard at Fight Night 55, we had just one underdog bet. The bet was the 42 year old, age defying Anthony Perosh to defeat the 28 year old Guto Inocente. The bet was 2 units at 2.88 (+188). It didn’t take long for Perosh to finish Inocente as he got Inocente down and took his back around the mid point of the first round, eventually getting the finish with the rear naked choke. We profit 3.76 units.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 56, our free betting tip was 3 units on Shogun Rua (Ian McCall dropping out meant our parlay became a straight bet). It didn’t take long for our lone loss of the night as Ovince St Preux got the finish in 34 seconds. We lost our 3 unit bet.

Our other UFC Fight Night 56 was a 4 unit underdog play on Claudio Silva to defeat Leon Edwards. We got odds of 2.60 (+160), but by fight time the line had risen to 3.00 (+200). Things looked bad in the first round for Silva as he was dominated by Edwards on the feet. Round 2 was looking the same until Silva got a late takedown and took Edwards’s back at the end of the round. Round 3 was similar to the end of round 2 as Silva spent most of the round on top of Edwards. We scored it 29-28 Silva giving him round 2 and round 3. The judges got it right with 2 of 3 scoring it for Silva and we profit 6.40 units.

That was that for our double header bets. A big profit on a successful weekend which is helping to make up for a couple bad months. We have now won two straight events and will be looking to keep that going with UFC 180: Werdum vs Hunt. Speaking of which, you can pre-order our paid betting tips for that event on our Sellfy page! 1. May I just ask, what % of your total betting pool are your units? I’m guessing 1 unit is 1% or is that totally incorrect?

Looking to getting into some MMA betting and your site seems one of the better ones – but confused with the “units”.

    • Hi Dane,
We generally recommend 1-2%. Basically you want to balance the amount of profit on a good night with the risk of going bankrupt on a bad night. Anything higher than 2% and the risk of going bankrupt becomes too great.
      Cheers,
      Austin

  2. Hi Austin, thanks for the response that what I was thinking – just wanted to confirm.

Will sign up and give it a shot with you guys some of the other sites risk crazy amounts each fight card which looks great on paper until they have a few bad bets.

I like slow and consistent :).
