UFC Fight Night 57: Swanson vs Edgar went down last night and while we weren’t able to watch it live, we just finished catching up on the action and it was a very successful night for us! Not only did our free bet cash and make some money for those who didn’t sign up for our premium picks, but we went 1-1 on our premium picks which were both underdogs for an additional couple unit profit. Overall, it was a pretty exciting night of fights and the profit is just the icing on the cake. Congratulations to all of those who tailed and here is our paid betting tips document.
Our free parlay bet for the card was Frankie Edgar to defeat Cub Swanson and Joseph Benavidez to defeat Dustin Ortiz. The bet was 3 units at 1.86 (-116). Frankie Edgar absolutely dominated every round in his fight except the first against Cub Swanson. He literally was in full control on the ground for 90% of rounds 2, 3, 4 and 5. Round 1 was a bit closer, but it was still relatively easy to score for Edgar. Benavidez wasn’t quite as dominant against Dustin Ortiz, but he still had a clear speed advantage, which was especially evident on the feet. The grappling was pretty even for the most part, but overall we had it 3 rounds to none for Benavidez which was the same way the judges scored it. We profit 2.58 units.
Our second underdog bet on the night was on a heavyweight fight in the middle of the main card. We had Oleksiy Oliynyk to defeat Jared Rosholt and it was a 2 unit paid pick at 3.00 (+200). By fight time, Oliynyk had climbed to 4.75 (+375) at some books! Our main reasoning for this bet was that Rosholt is generally overrated by the public and he has shown questionable striking defense in the past. We were absolutely on the right side as Oliynyk was able to get the KO finish in the middle of the first round! We profit 4.00 units.
Our first underdog bet of the night didn’t play out as well as we had hoped as we had Isaac Vallie-Flagg to defeat Matt Wiman. The bet was 2 units at 2.80 (+180) and was pretty steady heading into the fight even dropping slightly. It seemed like 80% of the first two rounds were spent with Vallie-Flagg pushing Wiman up against the fence although there were moments in each where Wiman had Vallie-Flagg’s back. The third was all Wiman as he did very well in the grappling and obviously deserved to take it on the judges score cards. In the end, we scored it 29-28 Wiman, but were hoping for a slightly bad decision where the judges scored round 1 and 2 for Vallie-Flagg. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out as the judges scored it 29-28, 30-27×2 for Wiman and we lose our 2 unit bet.
Going 2-1 for a 4.58 unit profit makes for a solid night and makes up for our lacklustre betting night at UFC 180. We’ll be back with at least 1 free betting tip for UFC 181: Hendricks vs Lawler and a few paid betting tips. Our pre-order for the paid picks will be posted shortly on our Sellfy page where all our paid picks are available for purchase. Also remember to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all the latest!
