Tomorrow night, the first of 3 major MAM events for this weekend goes down as WSOF 18: Moraes vs Hill will be live from the Edmonton Expo Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. WSOF goes down Thursday, February 12. Bellator 133: Shlemenko vs Manhoef will go down on Friday, February 13 from the Save Mart Center in Freson, California. Remember, we already released a free betting tip for UFC’s Saturday fight night card as well as our fantasy preview which also includes a $1,000 freeroll. If you sign up through our link and make a deposit on Draft Kings, we are also offering 30 days of free betting tips. For WSOF 18 and Bellator 133, we will just have the one free parlay which we will break down below! (If you’re allergic to chalk, as some of our readers seem to be, you might as well stop reading now.)
Firstly, in the main event of WSOF 18: Moraes vs Hill, Marlon Moraes will be defending his bantamweight title vs Josh Hill. Moraes is 13-4-1 overall, but has managed to win 8 straight; 6 of which came while fighting for the WSOF. He is just 26 years old and stands 5’6″. His opponent Josh Hill is 10-0, but only has one fight in WSOF. Hill is 28 years old and also stands 5’6″ tall. We really don’t see Hill getting the upset in this one which is why we made Moraes the first leg of our 3 team parlay. Even at 1.13 (-750), we think the small boost betting Moraes gives us in our parlay is worth it as his opponent has basically been fighting cans and has only fought once since August, 2012.
The second leg of our parlay will be on the main event of Bellator 133 where Alexander Shlemenko takes on Melvin Manhoef. Our initial inclination here was to bet Shlemenko, but with 60 career fights and a loss to Tito Ortiz in his recent past, we thought better of it, instead opting to bet on the fight to last under 1.5 rounds. We do expect Shlemenko to have a decent sized edge in this fight, but the key thing is that if Manhoef can somehow pull out a victory it is likely in the first or early in the second round. 37 of Shlemenko’s 51 wins come inside the distance while 29 of Manhoef’s 31 career wins come inside the distance and 11 of his 12 losses. Add to that the fact that Manhoef lost his last fight to Joe Schilling via early second round KO and that he is now 38 years old and we have enough to justify a bet on the under.
The final leg of our parlay will be another decent sized favourite as we have Pat Curran to defeat Daniel Weichel. The main motivation for this one is the fact that Curran is favoured by our model. Secondarily, Curran has been fighting the best the Bellator featherweight division has to offer over the last few years (and having moderate success) while this will be one of Weichel’s toughest opponents at least in the last few years anyway. In addition, Curran has a slight age advantage at 27 and as we saw in our breakdown of UFC fighter ages, it appears featherweights are at their best between 25 and 30 years of age. For these reasons, Curran will be the third leg of our 3 team parlay.
That’s it for our WSOF 18: Moraes vs Hill and Bellator 133: Shlemenko vs Manhoef free betting tip. Remember, you can purchase our full betting tips for UFC Fight Night 60: Henderson vs Thatch on our Sellfy or CapperTek profiles.
