UFC 185: Pettis vs Dos Anjos Free Betting Tip

We’re about a week and a half away from UFC 185: Pettis vs Dos Anjos which will feature two title fights and will be the second attempt at defending the lightweight belt by Anthony “Showtime” Pettis. We’ll give out a free betting tip in this post and will have at least 1 or 2 paid betting tips on our CapperTek profile. In terms of our recent tipping performance, we successfully brought our followers profit in both January and February of 2015. We’ll be looking to continue that trend in March and you can check out all of our previous bets by looking at our track record. Our tips are just $9.95 for a week of access, $14.95 for 14 days access and $24.95 for 30 days of access. Want to get 30 days for free? Follow our steps and you can get them free by signing up and making the minimum deposit at Draft Kings.

First up for our free bet parlay, in a welterweight number 1 contender fight which takes place in the middle of the main card, we have Johny Hendricks to defeat Matt Brown. Hendricks is 31 years old and 16-3 overall. He is 11-3 when competing for the UFC as he has been doing since 2009. He is a former welterweight champion as he defeated Robbie Lawler to win Georges St Pierre’s vacated title in March, 2014. He was subsequently defeated by Lawler via split decision in December of last year. Hendricks is known for his incredible punching power, but also his NCAA division I wrestling credentials. As of late, he has also displayed an incredible chin in the two fights with Robbie Lawler where both men remained standing after incredibly powerful strikes. Prior to winning GSP’s title, Hendricks arguably defeated St Pierre in St Pierre’s retirement fight, however the judges awarded a split decision to St Pierre. Matt Brown is a guy who in 2010 was on the verge of being cut with 3 straight submission losses in the UFC. At that point his record was barely above 500 at 11-10. Brown now sits at 19-12 after going on a 7 fight winning streak which was snapped in his most recent fight against Robbie Lawler in July, 2014. Brown is now 34 years old and impressively in 31 career fights, he has never been TKO’d. That’s not to say he hasn’t been hurt though as he tends to get hurt a lot in fights, especially with shots to the body, but he shows a great ability to recover and avoid being finished completely. Hendricks is favoured by our model and we think he makes a good parlay leg here. While both guys are fresh, we see Hendricks having both the striking and wrestling advantage so we don’t really see anywhere Brown will be able to have an advantage. Where Hendricks may be in danger is in round 3 when Brown’s cardio advantage should manifest itself. We don’t really see Brown being able to finish Hendricks though so if this fight does go to the judges score cards, Hendricks should have done enough in round 1 and 2 to at least win a 29-28 decision. It is also possible that Hendricks could become the first man to TKO Matt Brown if he is able to land one of his deadly overhand lefts in the first round.

The second leg of our free betting tip parlay is Jared Rosholt to defeat Josh Copeland. Rosholt is 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the UFC. He is 28 years old and is a former NCAA division I wrestler. He has shown a propensity to use his wrestling in his UFC fights so far which tend to unfold with Rosholt lying on top doing just enough to not get stood up. That strategy didn’t work out so well in his most recent fight as Rosholt was unable to get his opponent, Oleksiy Oliynyk down and eventually took a strike that resulted in a TKO loss. We don’t really see Josh Copeland being able to reenact Oliynyk’s performance as he lost his UFC debut, getting taken down once by Ruslan Magomedov in an eventual decision loss. Overall, Copeland is 9-1 with most of his wins coming inside the distance as is expected by heavyweights. We don’t expect him to be able to stuff the takedowns of Rosholt very often (or at all really), so it will be a long night for Copeland spent lying on his back. Rosholt is a decent size favourite, but we luckily probably get a better price on him coming off a loss than we would have otherwise. Rosholt will be the second leg of our two team free betting tip parlay.

That’s it for our free betting tips for UFC 185: Pettis vs Dos Anjos. Stay tuned throughout this week and next as we’ll have a Draft Kings fantasy preview as well as another feature article likely focused around Draft Kings.
