UFC Fight Night 62: Maia vs LaFlare goes down this Saturday night from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The card might not feature the greatest fighters, but what it lacks in name recognition, it makes up for in betting value as we’re currently looking to provide 5 betting tips! One betting tip will be freely available in this post while the other 4 will be available exclusively on our CapperTek profile. Is there value in our picks? Feel free to browse our betting track record to see for yourself. We’ve been on an incredible run so far in 2015 and a lot of that is attributed to the fact that we don’t just bet huge favourites like our competition. Check the CapperTek leaderboard to see for yourself. The only two services ahead of us provide less than half the picks we do and tend to focus more on other sports. Don’t have $9.95 to drop on our picks? You can get all our betting tips for free for 30 days by following these steps. Without further ado, let’s get into our free betting tip!
In general, we’ve been giving a 3 unit parlay as our free betting tip while saving our underdog bets for our paying members. For Saturday’s card though, as hard as we tried, there really aren’t many good parlay options available. The two fighters we were closest to parlaying were Gilbert Burns and Amanda Nunes, but with the odds sitting around 1.50 (-200) it just didn’t make sense. Burns will only be fighting in the UFC for the third time and with Nunes as a big favourite fighting in the women’s bantamweight division against a crafty vet in Shayna Baszler, that also just doesn’t make sense. Instead, we found a bet on a round total that we really like and we’ll play it for 1.50 units.
As mentioned above, Gilbert Burns is fighting on the card for the third time in the UFC against the debuting Alex Oliveira. Burns is 28 years old and sports an unbeaten 9-0 record including 2 wins in his first 2 UFC contests. In his career, he has finished 8 of 9 opponents in the first round. His opponent Alex Oliveira is 26 years old and has a 10-1-1 overall record. He has also finished almost all of his opponents with 9 of 10 wins coming inside the distance and 8 of 10 coming in the first round. It’s probably pretty obvious at this point that we want to bet the under 1.5 rounds in this fight. Obviously you have to be careful putting too much value in the fact that they were “can crushing” (beating weak fighters quickly) on the regional circuit in Brazil, but we still think this fight most likely finishes quickly. Burns is a big favourite and should be better in most places this fight takes place so we think he’ll be able to lock up a submission or get a TKO in what should be short order. Worst case, Oliveira lands something while standing and chances are that would come early as well. We placed a 1.50 unit bet on Burns/Oliveira being less than 1.5 rounds at 2.15 (+115) at 5Dimes.
