We’re a little over a week away from UFC Fight Night 65: Hunt vs Miocic which will be live from Adelaide, Australia on Saturday, May 11. The prelims kick off at 7:45 pm ET with the main card getting started at 11 pm ET. With the odds currently sitting where they are, we’ll likely have a total of 3 bets. First, we’ll have this free bet and secondly, we’ll have two paid bets which will only be available via CapperTek. After an incredibly successful first half of 2015, April turned out to be not great so we’re looking to bounce back big time in May. Overall in 2015, we’re still up almost 9 units for an over 6% ROI. You can see the full details of our historical bets at CapperTek. Want to try out our service? You can still use this promotion to sign up for 30 days of free betting tips!
The co-main event of this Australia card features Brad Tavares taking on Robert Whittaker. Tavares opened as a 1.41 (-245) favourite, but the money has been coming in on Whittaker and Tavares has since moved to a 1.64 (-157) favourite. We’re going to go against the public and bet on the favourite in Tavares in this match-up. Firstly, our bread and butter is our mathematical model and in this case it is telling us to bet Tavares so that is always our most heavily weighted criteria. Tavares is 27 years old, 13-3 overall and has been fighting in the UFC since 2010. He is 8-3 for the promotion, but could easily be 9-2 had he not been hit with a hail mary shot by Tim Boetsch in a fight he was clearly winning in the middle of the second round. In Robert Whittaker you have a 24 year old former TUF: The Smashes winner who is 13-4 overall and 4-2 in the UFC. He is still looking for a big win to really establish himself and Tavares gives him that opportunity. In our opinion it will be too much, too fast for Whittaker and we see him losing a decision in a fight that is primarily spent on the feet. Keep in mind that when this fight goes to the judges we could be in for a bad hometown decision in favour of Whittaker, especially if it ends up being a close fight (which we don’t really expect).
The bet to make on this fight is 3 units on Brad Tavares to defeat Robert Whittaker. The current line is 1.64 (-157) at Pinnacle.
