UFC Fight Night 66: Edgar vs Faber Free Betting Tip

UFC Fight Night 66: Edgar vs Faber goes down this Saturday from Manila, Philippines and will have a “super” fight main event between Urijah Faber and Frankie Edgar. We’ll be looking to build on the profit we earned at UFC Fight Night 65 which was another profitable event in what has been a pretty awesome 2015 so far. Our full betting tips are always available via CapperTek, but we also strive to bring you at least one solid betting tip for each UFC card absolutely free! You can also see our third party verified track record on CapperTek, but for more history, check out our betting track record. This post will give out a free betting tip, but will also give you a breakdown of how we see the main event playing out. You can also get our betting tips absolutely free for 30 days by following these steps.

We’ll start our main event breakdown by saying we’re very unlikely to bet this fight. Frankie Edgar is a former UFC lightweight champion. He successfully defended the belt 3 times (if you count the draw vs Maynard in their first fight). He lost his title to Benson Henderson in February, 2012 and also lost a rematch in August before losing his shot at the UFC featherweight belt against Jose Aldo in February, 2013. Since then, Edgar has won 3 straight in the featherweight division defeating Charles Oliveira, BJ Penn and Cub Swanson. He will be 33 years old when he steps in the cage on Saturday to take on the 35 year old Urijah Faber. Faber is 32-7 overall and has been undefeated since a November, 2011 win over Brian Bowles besides 2 losses to former bantamweight champion Renan Barao. It is important to note that Faber hasn’t fought at featherweight since 2010 so he will likely be a bit smaller than Edgar. Also worthy of note is the fact that Faber has never lost a fight that wasn’t for a belt since signing with WEC in 2007. With a straight pick, you have to go with Edgar in this one. He has only lost 4 times in his career and all 4 times were by decision. It is not all that likely that Faber is able to grind out a decision. The odds on this fight however, are kind of surprising. Edgar at 1.25 (-400) is a much bigger favourite than we expected and there could be some value on Faber on the possibility that Edgar has faded a bit from the wars he’s been in, or the possibility that Faber is able to lock up some kind of choke. We won’t be betting it, but it may be worth a look if you want to make a couple tiny plays to add to the excitement of this big main event.

Our free betting tip on this card will be a man who looked absolutely unstoppable in 2014, rattling off 6 wins, 3 of which came inside the distance. That man, as you’ve likely guessed is Neil Magny, and it’s no surprise that he figured out how to use his reach advantage, which he holds in almost every fight he has early in 2014. Magny is 27 years old and 14-3 overall. He is 7-2 overall in the UFC and holds the record for most wins in a calendar year with 6. His opponent, Hyun Gyu Lim is 30 years old and 13-4-1 overall. He is 3-1 inside the Octagon, but only fought twice in 2014, going 1-1 on the year. With Magny being the slightly, more proven guy and with the line close to even and our model siding with Magny, that’s the side we’re going to bet. We placed a 3 unit bet on Neil Magny at 1.86 (-116) at Pinnacle.

That’s it for our free betting tip for UFC Fight Night 66: Edgar vs Faber. Stay tuned to our CapperTek profile if you’re interested in getting our full betting tips for the event!
