It was a busy week of MMA betting with five bettable events including UFC Fight Night 71: Mir vs Duffee, UFC Fight Night 72: Bisping vs Leites, Bellator 140: Lima vs Koreshkov, Titan FC 34: Healy vs Edwards and Legacy FC 33: Jackson vs Garcia. Overall, it was not a great week for us as we lost on 2 of 3 of the events we bet on although that comes after a great start to the month of July and our best month ever in June. In total, we went 4-5 on our bets for a loss of 4.23 units. You can see our third party tracked record at CapperTek where you can also purchase our full betting tips. Since we only signed up for CapperTek in 2015, it only covers bets since January 1, but we have also have our full track record for those interested in looking back further.
UFC Fight Night 71: Mir vs Duffee
We had a total of 10 units on the line at UFC Fight Night 71: Mir vs Duffee. The night started very badly, with our lone 4 unit play of the night, Ildemar Alcantara losing a 30-27 decision to Kevin Casey. The next bet was a 2 unit play, but went equally badly as Igor Araujo was unable to mount much offense against Sean Strickland, also losing 30-27 (and 30-26 on one judges card). Things turned around in the main event of the prelims as Sam Sicilia was able to beat Yaotzin Meza by unanimous decision, utilizing his wrestling to control much of the fight. He was the first leg of a 2 team parlay with Alan Jouban. Jouban kicked off the main card also with a unanimous decision win although this one was less certain as his opponent, Matt Dwyer put up more of a fight than we expected, cracking Jouban pretty good a few times in the first round. The night was capped off with another 2 unit play on Frank Mir to win his main event contest with Todd Duffee. Mir came through as the underdog for us, winning via TKO just over a minute into the first round. The net result was a 2-2 night with a 0.38 unit loss.
Bellator 140: Lima vs Koreshkov
We just had one bet on this event and it was a single unit play on Andrey Koreshkov at 2.55 (+155). The line on this one actually flipped leading up to the fight with Koreshkov paying as little as 1.90 (-110) at some books. Koreshkov surprisingly outwrestled Lima throughout the fight, controlling most of the action and staying in top control for the majority of the fight. It was pretty obvious that Koreshkov had done enough to win and all 3 judges awarded him the decision for a net profit of 1.55 units and a 1-0 night for us.
UFC Fight Night 72: Bisping vs Leites
For the final event of a busy week, we had 14 units on the line spread across 4 plays. Our first play of the night was on the first fight of the night as we had 4 units on Chris De La Rocha to defeat Daniel Omielanczuk. De La Rocha couldn’t overcome the striking of Omielanczuk, losing by TKO early in round 1. Our second play of the day was another 4 unit play, this time on Mickael Lebout to defeat Teemu Packalen. Lebout came through, winning a unanimous decision and bringing us 4.60 of profit in the processs. Our third play went down via TKO as well as Leonardo Mafra lost half way through the first round of his bout with Stevie Ray. The final play of the night was our free play; a four unit bet on Thales Leites to defeat Michael Bisping. Unfortunately this one also didn’t work out. Although Leites kept it close, 2 of 3 judges awarded it to Bisping and we lost our 4 unit bet. In total, we went 1-3 for a loss of 5.40 units.
That’s it for this week in betting. We’ll be back this week with a free play for UFC on Fox 16: Dillashaw vs Barao II which should be an awesome night of fights on Fox.
