It’s feels like forever since we had any bets. Last weekend there was a lot of MMA action, but as predicted, it was almost all favourites who won. Why didn’t we bet if we expected mostly favourites to win? It’s hard enough to pick favourites in the UFC, let alone lower level organizations which are inherently more random. Anyway, we’re here to bring you our first free bet for UFC Fight Night 75: Barnett vs Nelson which will be live from Japan on Saturday night. At the present moment, we’re looking at having a total of 3 or 4 bets on the card which you can get exclusively from our CapperTek profile. For just $14.95, you can get our full betting tips for both UFC Fight Night 75 and UFC 193: Cormier vs Gustafsson which will go down the following week. $14.95 is a great deal given we’re one of the best MMA handicappers as evidenced by our position on the betmma.tips leaderboard where many services below us charge up to $50 per event! Let’s jump into this week’s free betting tip!
Kyoji Horiguchi returns to action this weekend after being defeated by Demetrious Johnson when fighting for Johnson’s flyweight title at UFC 186 on April 25. His opponent is Chico Camus who is also coming off a loss to a high level opponent as he lost by unanimous decision to Henry Cejudo in June of this year. Camus is 30 years old and has a 14-6 (1) overall record with a UFC mark of 3-3 (1). He should be 4-3, but had his victory over Yaotzin Meza overturned to a no contest after testing positive for marijuana. Horiguchi is 24 years old and 15-2 overall. He is 4-1 in the Octagon and Saturday will be a home fight for him as he was born in, resides in and trains in Japan. In this fight, we like Horiguchi even as a 1.32 (-315) favourite. He has consistently shown he can get the job done against lower levels of competition and while Camus would likely be his biggest win to date, we think he has proven to be consistent enough to be worth betting. Our model also favours Horiguchi which is another reason we made him the first leg of our two team parlay.
The second leg of our parlay will be Diego Brandao who is a 1.49 (-205) favourite against Katsunori Kikuno. Brandao is a former TUF winner, taking the 14th season over Dennis Bermudez back in 2011. He is 28 years old and 19-10 overall. He is 5-3 in the Octagon, but his only losses came to top 15 guys in Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier and Darren Elkins. Kikuno is 33 years old and 23-7-2 overall. He is just 2-2 in the UFC, suffering 2 KO losses in the process. We fully expect Brandao to be able to expose the bad defense Kikuno shows in the stand up, likely earning a TKO or KO in the first round. Kikuno’s weird stance and low hands make him very susceptible to big strikes and at 33 years old, his chin won’t be getting any better. Add Brandao as the second leg to your parlay for a bet of 2 units on Diego Brandao and Kyoji Horiguchi at 1.96 (-104) at Bookmaker.
