WSOF 24: Fitch vs Okami goes down tomorrow night from the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. We’re here with our lone bet for the event which is unfortunately a chalky parlay. We’d prefer to be betting underdogs, but there really aren’t any underdogs that hold value in ours and our models opinion. Remember, you can check our third party verified track record at Cappertek.
We’re not going to touch the main event at this event. Yushin Okami and John Fitch are both former UFC fighters, but the big question mark is how Okami fights at welterweight in his first fight in the division when he was always a large middleweight. We lean toward Okami as the slight favourite, but it’s not confident enough for a bet. Where we are more confident is the co-main event where Blagoi Ivanov takes on Derrick Mehmen in the heavyweight division. Ivanov will be fighting for WSOF for the second time after losing a Bellator heavyweight title fight to Alexander Volkov in May, 2014. Mehmen has in general fought a much lower level of competition and Ivanov should have some major advantages in this fight. We made Ivanov the first leg of a 3 team parlay.
The second leg of our three team parlay is Vinny Magalhaes. His bout versus Matt Hammill is another fight between UFC castoffs. Magalhaes is well known for his outstanding jiu jitsu with a resume that includes a no gi world jiu jitsu gold medal. 10 of his 12 wins in MMA have come by way of submission. Magalhaes is 31 years old. His opponent Matt Hamill is now 39 years old and hasn’t fought in 2 years; both very concerning factors in an MMA fight. If Matt Hammill wasn’t such a big name (and we use that term pretty lightly although he is a bigger name than Magalhaes), this line would likely be significantly steeper. We made Vinny Magalhaes the second leg of our 3 team parlay.
The final leg of our three team parlay is on the opening fight of the main card as we have Magomed Bibulatov to defeat Donavon Freelow in the flyweight division. Our model has Bibulatov as a big favourite and even though the price is steep and he’s making his UFC debut, we think there’s enough value to make him a parlay leg. Our parlay will be a 1 unit bet on Ivanov, Magalhaes and Bibulatov at 1.97 (-103) at Bookmaker.
That’s it for our free bet for WSOF 24: Fitch vs Okami. We won’t have any paid bets for this event so you can hold off on signing up at Cappertek unit UFC Fight Night 76: Poirier vs Duffy which we already have a free bet for. Remember to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all our latest updates!
