UFC Fight Night 81: Dillashaw vs Cruz Free Betting Tip

UFC Fight Night 81: Dillashaw vs Cruz goes down Sunday, January 17 from Boston, Massachusetts and features a Fox quality lineup, but airs on Fox Sports 1. Currently, lines are out for the final 3 fights of the night and there is one we wanted to jump on in case the public picks up on it and decides to hammer it. The bet was released last night on CapperTek and since then the line has dropped slightly. At UFC Fight Night 81, we’ll be looking to keep our strong start to 2016 going after a huge profit at UFC 195: Lawler vs Condit. Until full odds are released, it will be hard to tell how many total bets we’ll have at Fight Night 81, but we typically have between 4 and 8 bets at any given event. If you want access to all our bets for the event, sign up for $9.95 at CapperTek and profit with us!

In the main event, TJ Dillashaw defends his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz. This will be Dillashaw’s third attempt at a defense as he already successfully defended against Renan Barao and Joe Soto (who stepped in on a days notice when Barao was unable to make weight). He is 29 years old and has an overall record of 12-2. He is 8-2 in the Octagon so far and was a finalist on TUF 14 which he lost to John Dodson. His title win in May, 2014 against Barao was one of the biggest MMA upsets we have ever seen with the line on Dillashaw peaking at at 8.65 (+765). Dominick Cruz is the 30 year old former titleholder. Overall, Cruz is 20-1, but he has only fought 3 times for the UFC going 3-0. Cruz never actually lost his bantamweight title; instead, interim champion Renan Barao was made undisputed champion when Cruz was unable to fight for 3 years due to various knee injuries. Cruz’s first fight back from knee injury saw him TKO Takeya Mizugaki in about a minute. In that minute, Cruz looked extremely fast and powerful and didn’t look like he had lost a step since being on the injured reserve. An additional knee injury in the fight against Mizugaki led to another year on the sidelines and the fight against Dillashaw will be his first in 16 months. The current betting line has Cruz as a slight underdog and Dillashaw as the favourite. At the current line, we like Cruz for a bet. First and foremost, our model favours him and obviously the model has led to tons of profit in the past and is our #1 criteria for making a bet. Secondly, Cruz has proven he can return from these knee injuries as good or better than ever and we expect he will do the same against Dillashaw. For those reasons, we made Dominick Cruz a 2 unit free bet last night at 2.30 (+130) at Bookmaker.
