Unquestionably the biggest event of the year and one of the biggest of all time is just 13 days away and of course we’ll have you covered with the best bets for UFC 200: Cormier vs Jones II. The card is absolutely stacked, featuring 3 title fights, a ton of former champions and some very familiar faces to long time UFC fans. It also features the return of the beast, Brock Lesnar which by itself would basically guarantee a million buys or more. Add the title fights and animosity in the Cormier/Jones battle and you have the recipe for a record breaking pay-per-view. From a betting perspective, we actually don’t like this card all that much. Many of the fights have a lot of uncertainty and that always makes handicapping difficult. There are a few places we like for bets and we’ll give you one of those here and two of them via CapperTek.

In the first title fight of the night, Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar will contest the interim featherweight title. Conor MacGregor is the current division champ, but his trip to 170 lbs has lasted longer than expected and the UFC decided the right course of action is to create an interim championship. Jose Aldo is 25-2 overall. He was undefeated in the UFC prior to being knocked out by the aforementioned MacGregor in his most recent outing last December. He first won featherweight gold in June, 2009 at WEC 41 and was promoted to UFC featherweight champion after 2 title defenses. He defended that UFC title an impressive 8 times between April, 2011 and October, 2014. Recently, several injuries have rendered Aldo somewhat inactive with the December title fight loss his first in over a year. Frankie Edgar is 20-4-1 overall. He has had a long and storied UFC career, signing with the organization in 2007 and climbing all the way to become lightweight champion before losing two incredibly close fights with Benson Henderson and in the process dropping his title in 2012. He then too an immediate featherweight title shot against Jose Aldo losing in a close, fight of the night bout. He has won 5 straight since then, beating the who’s who of the lightweight division and culminating with a KO of former title contender Chad Mendes. You can currently get both Aldo and Edgar at even money if you go to the right bookie, and our pick in this fight is Edgar. There’s no question that Aldo and Edgar are incredibly fast, and need that speed to execute their game plans. We keep expecting Edgar to slow down, given that he’s close to 35 years old, but that hasn’t happened yet and we continue to see a better version of him every time he fights. The KO loss to MacGregor in his last outing may leave Aldo somewhat gun shy against another guy with wicked fast hands. With 27 fights under his belt and a couple years of relative inactivity it is also very possible that Aldo is slowing down. Regardless, our model favours Edgar in the bout and he seems to be on an upward trajectory while Aldo’s trajectory seems downward. We’ll be looking for Edgar to find Jose’s chin early. If that doesn’t happen, we’re expecting Edgar to be able to point fight to a decision. We put 2 units on Frankie Edgar to defeat Jose Aldo at 2.00 (+100) at William Hill.
