In the co-main event of the prelims (if that’s a thing), John Makdessi and Mehdi Baghdad will fight in a largely irrelevant lightweight bout. What makes it important? The fact that we want to throw some money down on it, of course! Makdessi is the 31 year old vet in this fight. He has an overall record of 13-5 and a UFC record of 6-5. 9 of his wins have come by TKO and 4 have come by decision. His 11 UFC fights dwarf the experience of his opponent, Baghdad who will be stepping into the Octagon for just the second time on Thursday night. Baghdad was a contestant on TUF 22, but was elimintated when he lost his second fight. His overall record is 11-4 and he lost his lone UFC fight. Even though he has far less UFC experience than Makdessi, he is also 31 years old. Makdessi opened as around a 2 to 1 favourite in this fight, but the steam has come in on Baghdad and Makdessi is now just a 1.83 (-120) favourite. At that price, we like Makdessi quite a bit and he will be our free bet for this card. Firstly, Baghdad’s only win over “UFC level” competition was Artem Lobov who is 0-2 in the UFC and if he hasn’t been cut yet, he probably should be. Makdessi is 1-3 in his last 4 fights, but that has been while fighting a decent level of competition. He should shine with the step down to Baghdad and we expect Makdessi to win by first round TKO. We put 2 units on Makdessi at 1.83 (-120) at BetOnline.
That’s it for our UFC Fight Night 90: Dos Anjos vs Alvarez free betting tip! We hope you enjoy a weekend chocked full of UFC title fights and also walk away with a bigger bankroll than you started with! We’d be happy to help make that happen, just sign up at Cappertek to profit with us!
