UFC 201: Lawler vs Woodley Free Betting Tip

UFC 201: Lawler vs Woodley goes down this Saturday night from Atlanta, Georgia. Like usual, the main card goes down at 10 pm ET, the televised prelims go down at 8pm ET and the Fight Pass prelims kick off at 6:30 pm ET. The card isn’t the best for a pay-per-view, but that’s probably a result of the UFC pulling out all the stops for the three events over the UFC 200 weekend. We’ve still got a decent main card and a very good main event featuring a welterweight title fight between current champ Robbie Lawler and challenger Tyron Woodley. In terms of bets for the event, we like this card quite a bit. Our first two plays have already been released to CapperTek, we’ll have our free play here and we anticipate an additional 2 or 3 bets when all is said and done. We’ve been on a huge hot streak lately, profiting around 16 units over the last 3 events and we’ll be looking to keep that going Saturday. You can get all our bets for just $9.95 from Cappertek. In the co-main event of the televised prelims, Jorge Masvidal meets Ross Pearson in a welterweight fight. The bout will be the 31 year old Pearson’s first at 170 after going pretty much .500 in his last 10 UFC bouts at 4-5-1. Overall, Pearson is 19-11 and 10-8-1 in the UFC. He is a former TUF winner and had a brief stint at featherweight, but has spent most of his time in the UFC at lightweight. Standing 5’8″, Pearson will have a size disadvantage in most bouts at welterweight. His opponent Jorge Masvidal has also been fighting in the UFC for a while. Masvidal is 5-4 for the organization, but also went 4-1 for Strikeforce and 2-1 for Bellator. Masvidal is 29-11 overall. Masvidal has bounced between welterweight and lightweight for his entire career, but his most recent 3 fights have been at welterweight where he lost split decisions to Benson Henderson and Lorenz Larkin and knocked out Cezar Ferreira. The betting odds currently have Masvidal as a just over 2 to 1 favourite and that is the side we like for a bet. He should have a size advantage and as a guy with both decent takedowns and decent takedown defense that should be enough for him to decide where the fight takes place. The striking in this match-up will likely be close, but it is possible that Pearson could get the upper hand. Assuming that happens, Masvidal should be able to use his fight IQ to get the fight to the mat. Our model favours Masvidal quite a bit and we think putting out money on him makes a lot of sense here. We placed a 2 unit bet on Jorge Masvidal at 1.49 (-205) at Pinnacle.
