UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor Free Betting Tip

Without doubt, the biggest card of the year is 48 hours away and needless to say we’re pumped. Obviously, today’s press conference antics were somewhat expected, but they only built more hype behind the main event where McGregor challenges for Eddie Alvarez’s lightweight belt. Not only do we have that huge lightweight title fight, but we’ll be treated to 2 additional title fights. Firstly, Tyron Woodley will defend his welterweight title against Stephen Thompson. Secondly, Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her women’s strawweight title against Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Both those title fights should be awesome as well! In terms of bets for the event, we’ll have a 2 unit play in this post for free, in addition, we’re currently looking to add 5 bets, but that’s dependent on weigh ins and how the lines move over the next 24 hours. We are on a huge hot streak lately and will be looking for our sixth straight winning event! If you want access to all our bets, you can sign up at Cappertek for just $9.95. You can also find our third party tracked track record there if you’d like to see our long term record!

With Cerrone out, this bet is void. Instead bet Michael Johnson for 1 unit to defeat Khabib Nurmagomedov at 3.65 (+265)

For our UFC 205 free betting tip, we have to look early on the main card at the fight between Donald Cerrone and Kelvin Gastelum. Cerrone opened around 1.57 (-175), but has since moved to 1.66 (-152) as money has come in on Gastelum. One of the more active fighters on the UFC roster, Cerrone will be fighting for the fourth time in 2016 which will be his fourth straight year with 4 fights. It may not seem like a ton, but among fighters ranked in the top 15 in their respective divisions, fighting 4 times a year is pretty rare. Cerrone doesn’t just fight often though, he wins fights often. He has won 11 straight fights against opponents not named Rafael Dos Anjos who he lost to twice over that stretch. After his most recent loss to Dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC on FOX last December, Cerrone moved up to welterweight where he has finished his 3 victories in 2016. At 33 years of age, Cerrone may be starting to slow down, but with many fighters this won’t show until they are 35 plus. Kelvin Gastelum is just 25 years old and has an impressive record of 12-2. He is 7-2 in the Octagon and enters this fight on a 2-2 run with split decision losses to Tyron Woodley and Neil Magny. He is a very big welterweight and struggles to make the 171 lbs cap, missing it twice. In this fight, we like Cerrone. Best case, Cerrone is able to dance around, avoiding takedowns and landing strikes. In this case he likely puts Gastelum away, but could win a one sided decision. Another possibility is Gastelum gets some early takedowns, but Cerrone uses his outstanding jiu jitsu to thwart any submission attempts and Gastelum tires in the second and third round leading to a Cerrone decision. Obviously, it’s also possible Gastelum gets takedowns in 2 of 3 rounds and manages to win a decision, but we don’t really see much of a path to victory besides that as we don’t see Gastelum being able to stop Cerrone. For this reason, we like the current price on Cerrone of 1.66 (-152) and we made him a 2 unit bet at Pinnacle Sports.
