UFC Fight Night 103: Rodriguez vs Penn Free Betting Tip

New years resolution? Yeah we got one. Bet less often and only when most confident. We always try to bet when most confident, but sometimes on cards with limited betting opportunities we may have stretched too much to try and find value. In 2017, we will make an effort to no longer do that because we didn’t hit the profit numbers we had hoped for after a stellar 2016. Yes, we still walked away with some profit, but our ROI wasn’t what we were hoping for. On this Sunday night’s card, we’ll only have 2 bets. One of them will be a 1 unit bet and will be free here. The other will cost $9.95 and be available exclusively on our Cappertek page.

In the second fight of the televised prelims, lightweights Alex White and Tony Martin will duke it out in a mostly meaningless fight. White is 28 years old and 11-2 overall. He is 2-2 in the UFC, but has only fought once in the last 2 years with injuries forcing him to pull out of 2 bouts. He is a somewhat late replacement to fight Tony Martin with approximately a months notice to replace Erik Koch. Tony Martin is 10-3 overall. Like White, his only losses have come in the Octagon where he has a 2-3 record. The fighters are similar in age and stature with both standing 6’0″ tall and Martin being 1 year younger at 27. It looks like the gambling public has wised up to this strange line which is why we’re putting our underdog bet on White out now rather than waiting. White is currently a 3.10 (+210) underdog. The line on White reached as high as 3.45 (+245) early last week, but has been coming down steadily over the last couple days as bettors look to take a value play on him. Given the similarities between these fighters it’s hard to understand why White became such a big dog. He is a slightly late notice replacement, but a month should be long enough to be pretty well prepared to fight Martin. It’s also possible that because White typically fights at featherweight people are thinking there could be a big size and strength advantage. While we admit this is possible, it shouldn’t be that big a factor given White is a pretty big featherweight and he should be a bit better not having to cut the extra 10 lbs. The other main factor people could be looking at is the stylistic advantages for Martin; particularly his jiu jitsu, but every fight starts on the feet and we like White’s chances there. Our bet is 1 unit on Alex White to defeat Tony Martin at 3.10 (+210) at William Hill.
